A kid’s bedroom is a place where young imaginations run wild, but for a few lucky kids their wildest dreams have been brought to life in creative bedroom designs. Check out these three kids rooms that are just too cool not share.

First up, is one lucky six year old’s Pirate themed bedroom designed by Minnesota based builder Steve Kuhl. The room comes equipped with a rope bridge, jail cell for pesky little siblings, a crow’s nest, and even a rope that leads all the way down from the pirate ship to the closet just below on the main level of the room.

The Tree House Room is perfect for any child who loves the outdoors, complete with a tree house (sleeping area), trees, picnic area, swing, ladders, ropes and hidden compartments!

This soccer themed room is perfect for any small soccer player aspiring to be the next David Beckham or Mia Hamm. The floor is made to look like grass with the goalie lines on the floor complete with an actual goal for pre-bedtime soccer practice.

A door is often seen as simply an entryway. Nothing special, just a way to enter a dwelling or another room. Why not dress it up to add a little fun or piece of art to a room? Thanks to Apartment Therapy, this Friday we are going to give you a few ways to dress up your door and transform a room from a plain place to a thrilling threshold.

Camouflage it! Painting the door, trim and wall the same color cleverly masks a not-so-pretty door. Spice it up with an 80s inspired mural and there is now "art" where there was previously only "door."

Paint it. This is a quick no-brainer. Choose one solid color, or an inspired pattern, and go to town on that hollow core door.

Chalk it up! This could be a fun way to leave silly notes for friends, or perhaps leave yourself that quick reminder to remember your things.

Accessorize it. One ceiling medallion and some hardware later, you have a formerly blah door that looks super custom and expensive.

Stud it: Apply brass nail heads in any design you can dream up and do. But promise me that you'll buy them in strips vs. individual nails. Otherwise, you won't have time to brag about your finished project.

To the average homeowner, a staircase is something that is often overlooked and simply a way to travel from one floor to the next.  For others, that isn’t exactly the case. This Friday, we are taking you to the next level with these funky staircases found all over the world!

The polished concrete on this staircase is supposed to evoke images of water running over river rocks in a stream. This gives of a feeling of zen and calmness, but make sure you have shoes with a good grip - these stairs are slippery!

These piano stairs at an underground subway not only look awesome, but they play a note when you step on them! This unique installation caused 66% more people to take the stairs over the escalator... Couldn't we all use one of these?!

We love these staircases!They are built of triangular boards, creating chaos in an otherwise ordinary space. Be careful where you step!

This may not be very funky, but we found this beautiful staircase located in the Peles Castle in Sinaia, Romania and had to share with you all!

Visitors to Istanbul will soon have a chance to view the most spectacular ocean views on the planet. A seven floor, seven-star hotel is being built underwater on what was formerly a tobacco factory. There will be exhibition halls, and restaurants, and all rooms will be sea facing.

What may look like a redneck mansion, is actually a set at the Openluchttheater in Amsterdam where plays are performed in the summer months. This is from the production of Ivanov.

This upside down house in Syzmbark, Poland seems nonsensical, but that is exactly the message the Polish philanthropist and designer, Daniel Czapiewski, was trying to send. The unstable and backward construction was built as a social commentary on Poland’s former Communist era. The monument is worth a trip be it for a lesson in history or balance.

From our houses and  bathrooms to our offices and cars, a door handle is something that we grasp multiple times a day. Changing the appearance of a doorknob can change the whole feel of a door and its surrounding area. For instance, replacing a common knob on the front door to something eye-catching could make for fresh curb appeal. Replacing the dull door handles around the house for a new, unique handle can make for a bold way to add life to an ordinary door. We aren’t sure how many of these we would add to our doors- but they sure are funky!

The new Broom chair from Emeco and Philippe Starck is made out of nothing. Well, almost. Furniture designer Florian Roeper is one of a group of design crafters who work out of the decommissioned Alameda, Calif., Naval Station where World War II airmen once tested and repaired jet engines. With a graphic design background he has learned how to work wonders with metal—etching patterns and giving an ordinary piece of metal a little flair and character. We love these lamps used with reclaimed metal, and this type of design has really began to blossom in the world of modern décor.
